Berries & Bears

BlackberriesBerries of all kinds are ripening on Mount Magazine. We have a good crop of blue berries, black berries, and fringe tree berries ripening now. Therefore, bear sightings are increasing. A few lucky visitors have seen them crossing roads in the park. Recently, a sow with three cubs was reported. A trail camera has captured video of at least eight different bears at one location so far this year. Some of these videos are added to a power point program presented on most weekends. Check our online calendar of events for the next presentation of "Bears."

New Restaurant Menu

Don't worry! We kept old favorites, like our homemade potato chips and the tortellini, but have made several great changes. In addition to a wider selection of seafood a banquet favorite, chicken roulade, has been added to the regular dinner menu. Decadent white cloud chocolate mousse has joined the crowd pleasing possum pie on the dessert menu.

Friday Night Surf & Turf

Come in Friday nights for shrimp, catfish, prime rib, and all the fixings on our Surf & Turf Buffet. The adult buffet price is $19.95. The buffet begins at 5 p.m. and goes until close.

Restaurant hours are 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.

Children's Wildlife Garden

Our Children's Wildlife Garden is in full bloom! Full of lavender, honeysuckle, coneflowers and more, it is a bird or butterfly lover's paradise. Each plant in the garden attracts various butterflies, birds, and other wildlife. The hummingbird feeders have been crowded with ruby-throated hummingbirds while butterflies enjoy the coneflowers. The garden is ripe with beautiful floral photo opportunities!

If you'd like information on creating your own wildlife oasis, check our online calendar for gardening and butterfly programs, such as Wildlife Gardening for Slackers!
