Crater of Diamonds to host fall photography workshop
By Waymon Cox
Greetings from Crater of Diamonds State Park! With milder temperatures and multihued foliage, fall is a great time to go outside and photograph the ever-changing world around us, and the natural surroundings at Crater of Diamonds State Park provide a unique backdrop during this special time of year!
On Saturday, October 20, Crater of Diamonds State Park will host Fall Photography in the Park, a workshop for digital photography enthusiasts. Participants, ages 13 and up, are invited to bring their digital cameras and join Park Interpreter and photographer Waymon Cox in the Diamond Discovery Center classroom from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. We’ll discuss camera settings, “rules” of good composition, and taking advantage of peak fall colors to make better photographs. With nice weather we’ll take a mid-morning photography hike to practice skills learned, and participants may choose their favorite photos to exhibit in a fall photo gallery at the Crater!
Admission for the workshop is $20 per person and may be paid at the visitor center upon arrival. Space is limited! Call Crater of Diamonds State Park at 870-285-3116 to sign up soon. Come learn new skills, share knowledge, meet other photographers, and have fun at Fall Photography in the Park!
