Benefits

Our Department offers an excellent benefit package including immediate accrual of annual and sick leave, eleven paid holidays, and a contributory retirement plan. Our Department pays the major portion of medical health insurance for full-time employees and offers several medical plans from which to choose. These plans range from an indemnity plan with a PPO option to HMO's.

Other benefits include maternity leave, court and jury duty leave, military leave and a catastrophic illness leave program as well as Family and Medical leave. Employees with our Department may choose to participate in a deferred compensation plan and various options for life insurance, accident insurance, cancer care and intensive care insurance. Employees are also able to participate in the Arkansas Cafeteria Plan which is a program designed to allow an employee to pay for group health and life insurance premiums, dependent day care and out-of-pocket medical care costs tax free. All employees of our Department are also covered under workers' compensation and unemployment insurance.

Facility Manager II (Devil's Den)

This position manages the park store, pool, and seasonal café. Other duties include handling monetary transactions, balancing daily receipts, ordering and maintaining inventory, pricing and displaying items, merchandising/marketing, preparing annual budgets, hiring, training and disciplining employees, completing the menu cost analysis, following Serve-Safe guidelines, monitoring portion control and labor costs, and operating within our standard operating procedure guidelines. Maintenance Assistant (Lake Charles)

This position is responsible for the maintenance and operation of park facilities, grounds and equipment. Applicant must have knowledge and experience with grounds-keeping equipment such as mowers, weed-eaters, tractors and chainsaws, and a general knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, painting and electrical. Job duties include trail work, trash pick-up, cleaning public restrooms, grounds keeping, plumbing and carpentry work, as well as vehicle and equipment maintenance. Must be able to work in inclement weather, traverse rough terrain, lift up to 50 lbs., and work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays. Park Office Manager I (Delta Heritage Trail)

This administrative support position is responsible for auditing invoices, posting and reconciling daily cash receipts, preparing cash receipt reports and bank deposits, preparing monthly statement of accounts, and compiling information for other various reports. Other job duties include posting transactions to park ledgers, balancing entries against internal accounting controls, assisting in budget preparation, issuing purchase orders, maintaining purchase order log, monitoring expenses, and reconciling purchase requisitions. Human Resources Specialist

This position is responsible for an extensive collection related to the natural resources of Arkansas, specifically oil and brine. The curator manages the permanent collection as it relates to acquisitions, special exhibitions, research, conservation, and preservation. This position recommends policies, procedures, and budgets needed for the care, conservation, and preservation of artifacts. Applicant must have excellent written and oral communication skills, strong research and computer skills, including knowledge of Past Perfect software, must be capable of implementing complex projects with minimal supervision, function effectively as a supervisor and work well with colleagues in a team environment. A criminal background check and a driving record check are required.
